For the second consecutive year, we are partners with Cévennes Tourisme, whose mission is to highlight the richness and resources of the local heritage.
Originally, the geographical term ‘Cévennes’ was used to designate the entire south-western, southern, south-eastern and eastern edge of the Massif Central. In its broadest sense, the Cévennes are made up of numerous low- to medium-altitude mountain ranges.
Since 1970, the Cévennes have been home to the Cévennes National Park, which covers 3,730 km², making it the second-largest national park in France after the Amazonian Park of French Guiana. More than 80% of its area lies in the Lozère department. Within the park, 15,000 hectares are designated as a no-hunting zone. In 1984, the Cévennes were recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
We invite you to consult Cévennes Tourisme, who will be happy to advise you on hikes, visits and walks, or to help you with more specific requests.

The ‘Esprit Parc National’ label

The Château awarded the Esprit Parc National label
We are delighted to share some wonderful news: the château has now been awarded the Esprit Parc National label.

What is the Esprit Parc National label?
Created by the French Office for Biodiversity (Office Français de la Biodiversité), the Esprit Parc National label recognises organisations committed to preserving and promoting the natural, cultural and human heritage of France’s 11 national parks.
It brings together a community of partners who share the same ambition: to protect exceptional territories while allowing the public to discover them in a respectful and sustainable way.

A recognised commitment
In January 2025, we submitted an application to formally demonstrate our commitment.
Today, we are proud to announce that the actions carried out at the château have been recognised, in particular:
-
Our sustainable practices implemented on a daily basis
-
The promotion of history and heritage
-
Our desire to offer visitors an authentic and responsible experience

What this means for our visitors
Holding the Esprit Parc National label guarantees an experience rooted in the values of:
-
Respect for biodiversity and landscapes
-
The enhancement of cultural and historical heritage
-
A warm and respectful welcome, attentive to local communities and territories

A shared pride
This recognition is the result of a collective effort and a long-term vision for a living, sustainable château open to all.
We warmly thank everyone who supports and accompanies us in this approach.

Our commitment to sustainability
At the Château, we are committed to preserving the environment and promoting responsible tourism. This is why we have implemented several simple yet effective practices, allowing you to actively take part in this approach.
Waste sorting
Recycling bins are available to help you easily separate recyclable, compostable, and non-recyclable waste.
Composting
A compost bin is also available for your organic waste, helping to reduce our ecological footprint.
Local consumption
The region is rich in high-quality local products. We strongly encourage you to discover and enjoy the treasures of our local terroir, supporting local producers while reducing the carbon footprint linked to transport.
Environmentally friendly products
We have chosen to use natural, environmentally friendly cleaning products to minimise our impact on nature.
Keeping cool
The château’s walls are old and thick. In summer, we recommend keeping windows, shutters, and doors closed during the day to preserve the cool indoor temperature, which is particularly pleasant. Feel free to open them at night.
Water conservation
Water is a precious resource, and we invite you to use it responsibly during your stay. While our bathtubs are indeed very beautiful, please note that taking a seated shower in the bathtub uses significantly less water than a traditional bath. We also encourage you to turn off taps when not in use and to report any leaks to avoid unnecessary waste.
Your contribution to these simple actions is invaluable. Thank you for helping us continue this wonderful journey towards more sustainable tourism! 🌿
